Water Treatment Process Engineer

About the Role

Design and optimize water and wastewater treatment systems for industrial and municipal clients. You will work on WTP, STP, ETP, and ZLD (Zero Liquid Discharge) projects, from process design and simulation through construction supervision and commissioning. This role combines environmental engineering expertise with hands-on project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design process flow diagrams and P&IDs for WTP, STP, ETP, and ZLD systems
• Perform process calculations, mass balances, and equipment sizing for treatment plants
• Select and specify treatment technologies (MBR, RO, UF, DAF, biological treatment, chemical dosing)
• Prepare detailed engineering documents, BOQs, and technical specifications
• Supervise installation and commissioning of treatment plants on client sites
• Conduct water quality testing, troubleshoot process issues, and optimize plant performance
• Ensure compliance with CPCB/SPCB discharge norms and environmental regulations
• Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, and civil contractors during project execution

Requirements

• B.Tech/M.Tech in Chemical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering
• 3-6 years of experience in water/wastewater treatment plant design or operations
• Strong knowledge of treatment processes (physical, chemical, and biological)
• Experience with design software (AutoCAD, STAAD, or process simulation tools)
• Understanding of Indian environmental regulations (CPCB norms, NGT guidelines)
• Ability to read and prepare P&IDs, GADs, and engineering drawings
• Willingness to travel for site supervision and commissioning

Nice to Have

• Experience with ZLD system design (evaporators, crystallizers, ATFD)
• Knowledge of IoT-based SCADA systems for remote plant monitoring
• Familiarity with membrane technologies (UF, NF, RO) maintenance and troubleshooting
• Prior experience with pharmaceutical, textile, or food industry effluent treatment
